Mutter Museum in Philadelphia, PA. It's a museum of medical oddities. They have many exhibits of conjoined twins... It's extremely disturbing.

WHY DOES THIS EXIST
alissa   |76.255.65.xxx |2008-07-24 21:58:41
These "medical oddities" used to be featured in freak shows. The carny
term for them is "Pickeled Punks."

Seems to me that this is an overwhelming display of the fallibility of god.
Surely, even the most deluded of religious fanatics can't see these as "part
of God's plan" - can they?

I am not sure if I should be disgusted that this is on display or
curious because the human body is so amazing!?!? I admit, I did have
to look at the photos, it did catch my attention!

Overwhelming fallibility of God? why can't God make mistakes? After all God
created everything... including mistakes. Including evil. Wrap your
mind around that one.
steven montiel   |74.211.43.xxx |2008-07-27 09:54:57
god cant make mistakes cause he is "all mighty and powerful" and if he
is supposed to be all powerful then how does he make mistakes and you to sayin
that is just ignorate and tryin to have any way to prove that god exsits and by
you sayin the god makes mistakes is just fur...
Jodi   |99.194.49.xxx |2008-07-28 09:25:30
Ignorant? Nope. You just don't understand the magnitude of what I said. If
God created EVERYTHING because he is infallible or almighty, then God
ALSO created mistakes, which is included as part of that everything.
Jodi   |99.194.49.xxx |2008-07-28 09:44:38
That Energy that animates all of life, that exists within all of creation,
Exists in everything including the things humans might consider to
be "mistakes". Just because you don't like the
"mistakes" does not prove that God (as some call it)...
Jodi   |99.194.49.xxx |2008-07-28 09:49:47
to finish what I was saying that got cut off.... Just because you don't
like the "mistakes" does not prove that God (as some call it) or
that energy does not exist.
Bornagain A. Theist  - Why is this "disturbing"     |66.76.239.xxx |2008-07-25 11:45:37
There is nothing in this series of "Pickled Punks", as you say, that a
well balanced human being should find "disturbing" It is simply
reality. Sometimes things in nature don't go like you would like - and
sometimes they do.

I totally agree that anyone who is not...
Disturbed or not   |99.194.49.xxx |2008-07-26 01:55:35
It is only disturbing because we are not use to seeing something like this.
Maybe people are more disturbed because they are in jars rather than disturbed
because of the deformity. You want to see something more disturbing? Go visit a
slaughter house and you will see horrors you c...
