Cool photos, but I question the description. There's nothing dangerous about
most of these. #1 is crazy but doesn't look dangerous. The bridge is just taken
from a funny angle (although the wave does look a little scary!) and the zigzag
is the only way to put a road down a steep hill.

Those take my breath away. I once dreamt of a road that disappeared into
nothingness. The road that goes under water reminds me of that.

There is as a matter of fact a very good explanation for why the road goes under
water, it is part of a really big suspension bridge, but if the bridge went all
the way to land the towers would be to big and cause danger at the nearby
airport.

The bridge is the chesapeke bay bridge tunnel in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The
reason for the bridge going under water is not because of the size of the
towers. The bridge is 2 miles long. during thie 2 mile period, the bridge goes
under water twice. it does so because the Norfolk ...

That may be a very good explanation, but it's not the explanation for the
bridge in #2. As you can plainly see in the picture, it's not a
suspension bridge.

This is a picture of the Monitor-Merrimac
bridge-tunnel in Hampton Roads, Virginia. It's one of...

Creative idea for a post though i don't think the roads are all that freaky. =)

The second picture looks like the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge Tunnel leading into
Newport News, Virginia. There's absolutely nothing scary or dangerous about.
dmoobie   |67.173.131.xxx |2008-04-04 02:47:18
the reason the road goes under the water in the second picture is so boats can
pass through and get into the harbor
satan   |72.95.239.xxx |2008-04-05 22:46:54

The bridge that goes underwater is made
like that because there is a Navy base nearby. If it didn't go
underwater the fags that designed it feared an enemy could bomb the
bridge creating a barricade and our Navy ships wouldn...

James Gerber   |76.98.216.xxx |2008-04-08 00:16:47
The second one is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel if I am not mistaken and
there's nothing scary about driving it IMHO.

I'm sure there is more than one reason why the bridge goes underwater so guess
what? YOU'RE ALL RIGHT yay for you, have a cookie. Also, the title is there to
be catchy, it is simply meaning that they are interesting roads... calm down....
it's just a title

Yes, I pitched the biggest loaf of my career today. The Brown Submarine, the
Excretamatic, the B-Bomb.

Neighbors from 4 blocks away were attracted by the
aroma and came over to admire.

Coming from flat Florida, most of these scare the crap out of me. Thanks for
the identification of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, but it still is freaky.

And why couldn't they have just made a lot of these straight ways?
Anonymous   |77.96.82.xxx |2008-04-21 22:03:31
#2 has nothing wrong with it, it goes underwater to let boats pass over it.
PuTTy   |98.169.162.xxx |2008-04-24 13:20:24
# 2 Is NOT the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel! I agree that it looks like the
Monitor-Merrimac Although I do think the CBBT would fit on here just as well.
Like the others said, the MM is made like that so ships (prolly from all the
damn bases out here) can get through. Not everyth...

nr. 4 and 5 is from a series of bridges close to my home in Norway. They connect
a large island to the mainland via several other small islands. (hence the weird
shape)They are made so to blend into the natural surroundings. It is pretty
weather-hard here (nr 6), so they are "o...
